About SAHRA

SAHRA (pronounced Sah-raa), meaning “a night out” in Arabic, is Berlin’s leading Arabic club night and cultural platform, founded to reimagine the dancefloor through the sounds, stories, and rhythms of the SWANA region.

Woman-led and rooted in community, SAHRA brings together global Arabic music styles—from beloved classics and folk traditions like Dabke and Mahraganat to genre-bending sounds such as Electro-Tarab, Post-Shaabi, and Oriental Techno. Each event is a journey through time and region, celebrating the full spectrum of SWANA music in a contemporary club context.

But SAHRA is more than music. At its heart, it is a statement of presence, joy, and resistance—an inclusive space where taking up space becomes an act of cultural defiance and collective healing. Centering representation and safer nightlife practices, SAHRA creates a vibrant home for connection, expression, and belonging.

Since its debut in 2022, SAHRA has consistently sold out Berlin’s top clubs, received funding from Musicboard Berlin, and was recognized by the Berlin Club Commission as part of the 2024 Tag Der Clubkultur.

In 2025, SAHRA launched the SAHRA DJ Academy—a free workshop series designed to empower the next generation of FLINTA (women, non-binary, and marginalized genders) DJs from SWANA backgrounds. SAHRA also functions as a booking agency, representing a growing roster of Arab DJs and artists who are reshaping the global sound of the diaspora.
